American Express OPEN Summit for Success

The American Express OPEN Summit for Success is designed to educate small business owners on the benefits of selling to the government. The free full day program will cover a variety of government contracting topics for businesses at all levels of contract readiness and provides attendees with resources and step-by-step instructions to secure government contracts.  The event provides direct access to government buyers and procurement officials and creates networking opportunities with other attending small business owners.

The event will cover government topics for all levels, including:

• Intro to government contracting and how to register on the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) – the primary database of vendors doing business with the federal government;
• Best practices to market your small business to the government and stand apart from the competition;
• Updates and tips to leverage the Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) program certification;
• Why small businesses should consider  teaming and subcontracting as a business strategy;
• Understanding the federal procurement process from start to finish;
• How to work with the federal sector as a client once you secure a contract.

On-site, business owners can sign up to participate in Contract Connections – one-on-one meetings with procurement officials, government buyers and large prime contractors. (On-site registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis and is expected to fill up)
