Give Me 5: Doing Business with the US Department of Agriculture

In FY2013, the United States Department of Agriculture awarded $2.8 billion in government contracts to small businesses and of that, more than $400 million went to women-owned small businesses (WOSBs). Through the agency’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), the USDA continues to work to find opportunities to partner with small businesses.

The Give Me 5 program is hosting a free webinar on February 18th to teach small business owners about how to market to and execute contracts with the USDA. The webinar will be hosted by Lance Petteway, USDA Director of Contract Management Division, who will provide WOSBs with useful tips and tricks for doing business with the agency.

The Give Me 5 program was created by American Express OPEN and Women Impacting Public Policy in 2008 to help women business owners get a leg up on selling to the world’s largest customer:  the U.S. government.
