Incoterms® 2010, short for the 2010 version of International Commercial Terms, are internationally accepted rules for interpreting the responsibilities of parties to a sale.

They are contractual “short hand” for the Terms of Sale that define the obligations, risks, and costs of the seller and buyer for the international sale of goods without requiring the parties to negotiate every detail of common transactions.

They are also widely misapplied and misunderstood, undercutting their goal to simplify transactions and clarify the relationships between parties.

This 90 minute webinar will provide an overview of the Incoterms® 2010, help you better understand what Incoterms® are (and are not), as well as help you understand how to use them correctly.

• How Incoterms® allocate responsibilities, costs, and risks relating to the transfer of goods from the seller to the buyer

• How the choice of term will – or should – impact the cost of goods sold

This webinar will provide PowerPoint slides and include live video and commentary from Joan Koenig, whose experience includes assisting clients in obtaining export licenses, manufacturing license and technical assistance agreements, authorizations from the Office of Foreign Assets Control, as well as other types of export approvals from applicable agencies and working to structure transactions to comply with the export control regulations. Webinar participants are invited to submit questions during the webinar; the final 30 minutes of the webinar will be allotted to answering attendees' questions.
