It is true of export compliance that being an exporter means – in all probability – your company will eventually commit an export-related violation. Between the ITAR, the EAR and seemingly endless bodies of OFAC sanctions regulations, with all their complexities and ambiguities, it is frighteningly easy to run afoul of the rules. Sooner or later, you will face an export violation, or at least facts which might indicate a violation. What will you do?

In this free event, ECTI faculty member and upcoming Interactive Export Control Workshop instructor John Black, will guide webinar participants through just such a scenario. Learn how to handle potential violations with ECTI in a safe learning environment, before you have no margin for error under the watchful eyes of the Office of Export Enforcement or Homeland Security Investigations.

Participants will be given a suspected violation scenario and an opportunity to work through key decision points in order to choose a course of action. Depending on the course of action chosen by the group, participants will receive a new set of facts that are the outcome of that decision. After several decisions and resulting consequences, the group will reach its destination based on its choices.  As the group works through the exercise, John Black will offer insights of the direction chosen, and his analysis of the pros and cons of different decisions. While there may not be any 100% right or wrong answers or paths, we will see that some approaches may work better than others.

This webinar exercise will take live polling samples to guide participants through the scenario.  There is so much to be learned from this expert analysis of the difficult —and rarely clear — decision making process that is a necessary part of your daily compliance responsibility.
