Exporting goods, technology and services to foreign markets offers U.S. companies the opportunity to reach new customers located overseas, edge out competitors who only sell domestically, and reap the financial rewards. At the same time, exporting carries with it additional responsibilities and U.S. companies must find ways to ensure their compliance with the constantly changing export requirements. The mechanism for ensuring compliance with U.S. export controls is the implementation of sound compliance policies and procedures. In fact, the rollout of effective compliance programs is not merely encouraged by the various government agencies responsible for export enforcement—it is an outright expectation for all U.S. exporters. Compliance programs also provide additional significant benefits, such as creating greater efficiencies in process flows, streamlining export clearance, and reducing the likelihood of inadvertent errors that could lead to costly delays, greater government scrutiny and unhappy customers overseas.
This webinar is intended to give executives, compliance managers, and personnel in customer service, sales, marketing and logistics functions, who already have a grasp on export basics, a thorough understanding of the core elements that should be included in every export compliance program. We will target compliance strategies relative to the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the U.S. embargoes and sanctions programs, antiboycott compliance, and Automated Export System (AES) compliance. The webinar will also outline the “best practices” for creating or enhancing export compliance processes without overburdening personnel, unduly taxing existing resources, and sacrificing profitability. Specifically, we will tackle these topics and more:
-
Export Compliance Programs through the Eyes of the U.S. Government
-
Common Export Program Failures and the Consequences of Non-Compliance
-
The Core Compliance Areas that Every Compliance Program Needs to Address
-
