CBRNE Defense 2011
Defending America’s Interests at Home and Abroad
"We refuse to remain idle when modern technology might be turned against us. We will rally the great promise of American science and innovation to confront the greatest danger of our time."
The threat of a chemical, biological, nuclear and high yield explosives (CBRNE) attack continues to be a major issue not only in the US, but on a global scale. As we draw further into the age of asymmetrical threats and rogue nations with weapons of mass destruction (WMD), planning and preparedness against CBRNE threats for our homeland, warfighters and first responders is a major issue.
For industry, CBRNE defense and homeland security issues are viewed as on the rise. Defense contractors and vendors are trying to develop and apply new technologies. The consequences of a CBRNE attack, coupled with the looming threat of terror, require an environment of suspicious alertness among federal, state, and local government. With growing concern about the intentions of foreign nations, the US is working to stop all threats from happening and making sure we are prepared and adequately trained for the worst case scenarios. Over eleven billion dollars is spent annually on CBRNE prevention, detection, training and preparedness. The CBRNE threat is calling for greater advancement in technology, preparedness and inter-agency coordination.
IDGA’s 6th Annual CBRNE Defense Conference will bring together the developers, users, and decision makers who strive to defend American interests both at home and abroad.
