Riding the Wave of the GEOINT Revolution Webinar Series - When Accuracy Matters: Ground Control Points, Analysis, and Imagery
"Now it's our turn to play our own critical role in protecting the world...to ride this new wave, as a part of this GEOINT revolution we've sparked."- Dir. Robert Cardillo, GEOINT 2017, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency
When Accuracy Matters: Ground Control Points, Analysis, and Imagery
Reliable Ground Control Points (GCPs) increase spatial accuracy. They are an essential input for precise orthorectification of remotely sensed imagery, exact target locations, image and mapping data quality assessment, and photogrammetric mapping, as well as acting as a fundamental building block of Geographic Information System development. However, it is difficult to accurately model the earth’s surface as well as modeling sensor distortion and orientation. Join this webinar to learn why the spatial accuracy of data is important and why identifying inaccuracies is imperative to the mission of improving the quality spatial data.
