Speaker and Presenter Information
Tommy Benton is a retired Federal Government employee with the predominance of his service spent working in contracting and acquisition. He was a Senior Procurement Analyst for the U.S. General Services Administration, Federal Acquisition Service in the Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) Policy Division. He served as the Chief of MAS Policy where he developed and presented multiple training courses on the proper use of the MAS Program through online and classroom presentations and held Level III certifications as FAC-C, FAC-COR, and FAC-PPM.
INSTRUCTOR
Michael Smith is a retired Senior Executive from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and currently serves as the Founder/CEO of Access Government Services and Executive Vice President with GovConRx. He has vast federal acquisition experience in contracting, performance management, program management, and logistics. At GovConRx, Michael specializes in effective post-award contract performance management and ensuring clients receive the highest accurate CPARS ratings earned and deserved.
Katherine Valltos served 34 years in federal service as a former Operational Contracting Officer and Senior Acquisition Executive. She currently serves as an Executive Vice President with GovConRx – an acquisition advisory consulting firm assisting federal contractor clients with contract wellness issues and Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System (CPARS) ratings management. Katherine retired in 2017 from the Department of Interior’s (DOI) Acquisition Management Directorate.
