Speaker and Presenter Information
Throughout decades of service in high-intensity correctional settings, Dr. Tamara Lyn (Tammy) developed unique insights into all aspects of leadership. She served in many clinical and executive roles in the Federal Bureau of Prisons, culminating in the role of Warden, where she was one of very few women in the position.
Working as a Warden during the COVID pandemic, Tammy developed deep insights into crisis management, fostered psychological safety, and modeled resilience and emotional intelligence.
Tammy is the founder of High Ready Coaching and Consulting, offering executive coaching to leaders and teams in high-impact, high-stakes careers such as law enforcement and public safety. She takes a strengths-based approach, combatting burnout and disengagement with interventions to build resilience and orient leaders to the core values.
Tammy holds a masters and doctorate in psychology from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and graduated with honors from Harvard College in Cambridge, MA. She holds the prestigious Certified Correctional Executive credential from the American Correctional Association and was elected to a seat on the Board of Directors of the American Psychological Association for the 2022-2024 term. She is Board certified in organizational and business consulting psychology and is certified by the International Coaching Federation. Her most recent article, The Surprising Journey from Psychologist to Warden, was published in Psychological Services, the journal of APAs Division 18, Public Service Psychology, in December 2022.
