Preparing for Export Control Reform: EAR for the ITAR Crowd



President Obama issued an Executive Order on March 8, 2013 advancing the reform effort.

This webinar is the second of a series of webinars designed to help companies plan for the upcoming EAR and ITAR changes that will be implemented in 2013.  This webinar is targeted to the exporter who knows ITAR rules but may be less comfortable with the EAR.

Our Preparing for Export Control Reform:  EAR for the ITAR Crowd Webinar will provide PowerPoint slides and include live video and commentary from Felice Laird who is an Instructor with ECTI. She has over twenty years of experience helping companies comply with the US Export Administration and International Traffic in Arms Regulations. Webinar participants will be invited to submit topics pertaining to the reform process that will be considered by the ECTI staff in crafting the agendas for additional webinars in this series.

**Each registrant will receive a copy of the presentation, certificate of completion and access to the webinar recording.

Speaker and Presenter Information

Felice Laird Senior Consultant Felice Laird has over twenty years experience helping companies comply with the US Export Administration and International Traffic in Arms Regulations. Felice specializes in transactional work, reviewing client�s product lines to establish licensing requirements and then providing guidance on how best to deal with any government restrictions on export. Felice is a subject matter expert in encryption export controls and has helped both large and small firms navigate the complex restrictions on data security technologies. Prior to becoming a consultant, Felice worked at the Department of Commerce in what is now the Bureau of Industry and Security. She also worked as an International Trade Analyst at the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison and as an Export Compliance Administrator for GTE Corp (now Verzion). Felice served on the encryption working group of the President�s Export Council Subcommittee on Export Administration (PECSEA), as well as serving as a PECSEA member during the Bush Administration. Felice is active in the National Council on International Trade and Development and TechAmerica�s Export Committee.
