Outcome - Oriented Approaches to Successful Software Acquisition

The Department of Defense and Congress have undertaken a number of initiatives to improve the ability to acquire complex software technologies and services for advanced defense capabilities, but these have been limited in their success in improving program outcomes.  Most recently, the Secretary of Defense issued a memo entitled "Directing Modern Software Acquisition to Maximize Lethality" that seeks to “deliver software faster and tap into commercial innovation — ensuring warfighters stay ahead.”

This webinar will discuss best practices for defense programs, including consideration of recent developments in software acquisition reform and emphasis on commercial procurement practices, and the technical considerations that underly optimal acquisition strategies.

Join the NDIA's Cybersecurity and Systems Engineering divisions and the Software Engineering Institute, along with DoD and Industry leaders, for practical and actionable insights that will help you get the right capability into the hands of the warfighter at the right time, every time.
