Survey of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) EW Applications and Payloads
Course Description:
Unmanned aeriel systems (UAS) have contributed greatly to operations, and will continue to contribute even more in the future as the DoD produces increasingly sophisticated vehicles and payloads. Until recently, however, EW has been a marginal UAV mission. This situation will significantly change in the near future as EW payloads are produced and integrated into operations. Proliferation of EW payloads in the future may also open the door to new operational concepts such as cooperative SIGINT and distributed Electronic Attack (EA). This survey course reviews current and projected EW applications for UAS, internaitonal plans for medium/high altitude, log endurance vehicles and ISR/EW payloads, and how unmanned systems will broadly impact management of the Electromagnetic (EM) battle space."
Note: The course is not a design level discussion of payloads, but will demonstrate how UAVs are going to play a major part in future EW operations.
