5G Series Part Three: The Future of 6G
This event qualifies for .1 CEUs
This event qualifies for 1 CPEs
This event qualifies for 1 CLPs
Just as 5G set a new standard for speed and reliability, 6G – the sixth generation of cellular technology — is envisioned to provide ultra-high speeds, near-zero latency, and a massive increase in capacity (the number of devices and connections that can be supported by at the same time).
To accomplish this, 6G will optimize network performance, adapt to changing conditions and demands for service, and manage resources. Further, the introduction of 6G presents the opportunity to advance numerous new applications, such as immersive experiences (e.g., augmented/virtual reality and holographic communications), support for autonomous systems, and expanding the Internet of Things (IoT).
Learning Objectives:
- Review the key differences between 5G and 6G, particularly in terms of speed, latency and capacity
- Connect specific benefits of 6G to particular emerging technologies
- Evaluate the role of AI/ML in realizing the technology gains inherent in 6G
- Identify ways that 6G will optimize network performance compared to previous generations, and the technologies that will enable this optimization
