Security Risks in Procuring Low Price Technically Acceptable Solutions
Government agencies are being encouraged to follow acquisition policies for products and services known as Low Price Technically Acceptable, or LPTA. Lower cost solutions are attractive, but in some cases low cost solutions might introduce additional security risk. These added security risks can potentially pose a greater cost over time than anticipated. With Government IT systems under continuous attack from multiple cyber security threats, it is critical the minimal “technically acceptable” requirements include features needed to protect against these threats.
In this session, we will review solutions that adequately address security while maintaining cost-effective approaches to network design and implementation. Discussion topics will include cyber security tools that should be required for all network architectures, many of which are already included in your current deployment.
